CAA at the Color Run

CAA's main event this year has been the Color Run, in which over 3 days, Oct 3-5th had somewhere between 10-15 volunteers.  Although the event was the Color Run, CAA works with the Partnership for Providence Parks, a non-profit here in Providence, so volunteer duties ranged from runner sign in/bib pick up, stationed color tossers, road managers, spinning cotton candy, and facilitating a "park wish" art project before and after the run. In helping the Partnership gain volunteers through CAA, and CAA's efforts to get JWU's classes and communities get involved, they were able to have over 2,000 volunteers, and received over $8,000 from the Color Run!

Six Flags Fun

Not even a steady rain could dampen NSO students’ Six Flags spirits on Saturday, Oct. 4. Forty-nine students traveled from JWU to Agawam, Mass., ready to tackle Goliath, Bizarro, and more. After enjoying lunch and getting a couple of rides in, students had to re-board the buses when the park closed due to weather. Fortunately, all received a voucher to return under sunnier skies.

In these photos taken at Six Flags, NSO students Jacqueline Lynch, Dani Pluskalowski, and Brianna Portelli pose with new friends while taking cover from the rain
