The Happiest 5K Color Run in the World

By Katherine Zecena-Costanza and Samantha Riley

Spreading happiness through a myriad of colors is what The Color Run does best. They pride themselves on being the happiest 5K Color Run in the world, and fully embrace being so. On Sunday, September 25th, Johnson & Wales University's National Student Organizations and the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality teamed up to help set-up, breakdown and keep literally spreading the joyousness of the colorful paint around.

The Color Run has four main objectives: Healthiness, Happiness, Individuality and Giving Back. Despite being a for-profit, over four million dollars have been allocated to local charities in communities throughout the country. This Color Run’s volunteers were fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to assist this wonderful organization and its chosen philanthropy, the Partnership for
Providence Parks.

Uno's also partnered with The Color Run and generously gave 20% off to anyone who ate at their establishment in Providence on the day of the race. The second shift group decided to enjoy a nice lunch there after volunteering, in order to further support the cause.

Overall, the 5K Color Run is truly a selfless organization whose main goal is to ensure they play a significant role in helping make others happy and healthy. Thank you to everyone who volunteered for making a difference!
