On December 3rd, Joseph Esposito, Drew DuBoff, Parthenia Giannopoulos, and Andrew Donnelly went to Endicott College along with Sandra Cardoza, one of our advisors, for a DECA practice conference. JWU and Endicott College students forged bonds through DECA and networking, culminating in a successful event.
The small nature of the conference fostered relationships between the judges and the competitors. Following all roleplays, judges provided one-on-one feedback to the students on how they could better their performance. Additionally, the exams were handed back with correct answers marked to facilitate improvement.
The small number of participants, due to this being the first year Endicott College opened up the practice conference to other schools, actually was a positive. A speaker from the school’s internship coordinating office spoke about branding and students created contraptions from a mystery bag of products.
This was a great opportunity for NSO competitors as we prepare for the Northeast Region Competitive Events Conference on February 10th.
