Community Action Association
Are you interested in networking and building your leadership skills while strengthening the community? In the Community Action Association, you’ll participate in community service and civic engagement projects with an emphasis on hunger, homelessness and education. You’ll also develop a lifelong, practical understanding of the balance between corporate prosperity and community commitment.
What do you do in the Community Action Association?
- Take a Global Outreach trip to a domestic and/or international location to assist in improving the economic and social means of neighborhoods through community-driven projects.
- Volunteer with Rhode Island's Campus Compact, a coalition of college presidents who share a commitment to the public service mission of higher education, and be a part of the "Raise Your Voice" project.
- Meet with local business leaders and companies to become familiar with corporate and global citizenship.
- Visit the United Nations to view the United States from a global standpoint and learn how our domestic actions affect the world.
- Assist in planning a speaker series.
