Competitive Events Institute
In the Competitive Events Institute, you’ll receive competitive training to help you win scholarships and externships at conferences. As a member, you’ll have the opportunity to become a certified “competitive event trainer” to serve both high school and college students.You’ll also attend a series of seminars hosted by the institute which target industry growth trends and new job categories.
What do you do in the Competitive Events Institute?
- Compete and earn scholarships at state, regional and national competitions (i.e. SkillsUSA RI State Conference, DEX International Career Development Conference, etc.).
- Attend the Franklin Covey "Focus: Achieve Your Highest Priorities" seminar.
- Assist in marketing and conference event planning for the Career Day Role-Play Demonstration and various state, regional and national conferences.
- Qualify to be a student trainer for the year.The selection process is difficult and trainers must be top performers in classroom, state, or national level competitions. Trainers receive scholarships and a slot to attend one of three national conferences.
